1. What is iXL? IXL is a Web-based math and language arts practice program that we use to reinforce the curriculum this school year. iXL math is broken down by grade levels and then skills within each grade. The program allows students to work at their own pace to master the material we cover. You can access iXL on the iXL app or ixl.com with the username and password provided.
3. How long should I practice each week? In order to see results and retain skills, students should practice on iXL for at least 30 minutes each week.
4. How do I view how much time I have practiced each week? 1. Sign in at www.ixl.com/ using your username and password (you can't view your time by week on the app) 2. Click on Analytics at the top 3. Click on Usage 4. Set subject to math and date range to this week (or customize and select Monday through Sunday)
5. What does the score mean at the top? When a student starts practicing a skill, the SmartScore starts at 0. As he or she answers questions correctly, the SmartScore increases. If a question is answered incorrectly, the score decreases. However, the SmartScore is not just based on the percentage of questions correct. It is calculated using many factors, including the number of questions completed, question difficulty, and consistency, and offers superior accuracy in assessing student achievement. Goal - SmartScore of 80
